Here's to spring

We are having amazing weather right now and I am wanting to spend every moment outside enjoying it before hellish summer temps come upon us. I enjoyed another fun day outside at a church picnic and some goofy golfing with friends in the sunshine. I wish all weekends could be like this.
Here is a fun tidbit from yesterday's outings.

Get out there and enjoy this beautiful spring weather while it lasts and let's hear about your sunfilled adventures.

Funny shaped sunburns

I had the most lovely day of socializing today. Days like this make me so happy and leave me feeling so energized. I started the day attending a church tea with my mom. We ate beautiful baked goods and I found a tea that doesn't completely repulse me. Successful day right there! We ended up sitting with a table of ladies who work in education. It was fun to chat with them and hear their stories. So often when teachers get together their conversations ends up being a big gripe session. I was so blessed to hear positive stories and their passion for working with kids.
After spending a short time with my mom I headed off to pick up my friend Katy for a little downtown adventure. We headed for an AZ blogger get together. It was nice to meet other bloggers and I'm excited to be introduced to some good local blogs I can add to my list. But what I really enjoyed was spending quality time with my good friend. I told her this recently and I thought I'd say it again. I really love our friendship and I really appreciate your honesty and how you make me laugh. :-) The title of today's blog comes from this afternoon's outing. We spent much of the afternoon walking around outside which was wonderful in this weather. I was left with a small reminder of this afternoon in the form of a 4x4 bright red square on my chest. Why nothing else was sunburned I'll never know.
I ended my day having dinner and painting pottery with my friend Jill. Painting potter can be such a relaxing thing to do. That is once you figure out what you are going to paint and with what colors. That part of the process always stresses me out. But I'm excited to see how our things turn out.
All in all it was a lovely spring day and I'm hoping for a lovely Sunday afternoon to round out my weekend.

Ladybugs..

This week has been just delightful. I'm not sure if it's because I'm all rested from my visit to the Bahamas or what, but I have enjoyed every moment at work this week. The kids have been especially cute and fun to be around. I love catching them repeat things I say like "the mean words you said hurt my heart" or " yeah you were responsible and you brought your homework back!" We had a long serious discussion about how our words and actions effect others hearts and minds and I've seen such a big change in some of them it make me so happy. I'm kind of babbling but I am just loving my job right now. After you read this would you mind knocking on something wooden for me. :-)
I have recess duty this week and I've had so much fun out in the field with the kids not really doing my duty. It's ladybug season and we have been finding those cute little bugs all over the place! Nearly my whole class is out in the grass hunting around for those round red treasures. Its hard to describe the feeling I have when I'm out there with them. It's kind of a carefree, simple kid feeling that well....just made me smile. And seeing their kindness and generosity has warmed my heart too. Sharing the bugs with kids who aren't able to find any. I'm seeing them play and giggle with kids they don't usually care for and showing friendship and kindness towards the special needs students who share our recess. All through the simple adventure of catching ladybugs. So I recommend that you get out there and enjoy this amazing spring weather and find yourself a ladybug. It will make you smile. I'm sure of it.

All Smiles...

Today it was the little things that made me smile. Little things like gmail chat. Though that really makes me smile pretty big these days. Little things like picking oranges with my parents and laughing at their silly jokes. I couldn't help but smile when I completed that stack of school work I had been ignoring for so long. A little cheer accompanied my smile when I finally finished a craft project I had been working on for what seems like forever. I smiled at my fun new phone and the amusing messages I recieved from it. Looking at this list it seems to be such a mundane day, but I found myself smiling big right to the very end.

Oh Wednesday....

How is it that you manage to suck every time Wednesday? Naughty kids fighting all day, fever/cold/flu thing making me want to lay down and die all day, and now a wasted evening laying in bed chattering my teeth and trying to decide if i should go to work tomorrow. Grump....
Well the whole day wasn't a total bust. I had my evaluation at work and it went awesome! Super stoked that he likes me this year. Makes me enjoy going to my job just a teensy bit more. I had a student say something funny to me today. I hope it's appropriate cause it made me laugh pretty hard. While we were standing in line for our afternoon bathroom break one of my boys asks me "Hey, Miss Wilson, choo ever go to one of them low rider shows?" "Ummmmmm....Nope." "Choo wan me to take you on a date to one or somsing?" "HA!!! sorry....no thanks."
Well, we'll try again next week Wednesday.
